Ink Blowing Technique Take Two

As promised here is the other card I created using the ink blowing technique.

I used the challenge over at Catherine & Cathy Create to choose my color scheme.

This was one of the many cards I donated to the Ronald McDonald House during our Fall Stampin' Up Canada Conference. I hope it makes someone smile!

For the butterflies I stamped on coloured card stock in my versa mark and then embossed with Basic Black Embossing Powder and then punched them out with the Bitty Butterfly punch.

FM179 Ink Blowing & Color Combo

I have finally caught up to the Friday Mashup and it is about time because this week it was my turn to come up with a challenge.

I have been wanting to try the ink blowing technique for a while and there's no better time to try something new than when you can inspire others to try it too!

I hope you like the color combo I choose and I hope you will give the ink blowing technique a try!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

I really liked the ink blowing technique, so much so I will have another card to share with you tomorrow with the same technique.

FM178 Velum & Stitching

Last week's Friday Mashup challenge was to create a project using Vellum & Stitching. Automatically the Faux Stained Glass Technique popped into my head and I got to creating.

1. Create a Project using "Vellum".
2. Create a Project with "Stitching (Sewing or Faux)".
3. or Mash it up! and create a Project with "Vellum and Stitching".

To color the doily I tried two things, inking up my brayer and coloring the doily. Second I tried adding re-inker to a spritzer with some rubbing alcohol and spritzing the doily. I found the brayer gave me a much darker color but the spritzing gave me a more even color. Give both a try to find out what you like better.

To do the Faux Stained Glass technique follow the steps below:
1. Rub Vellum with your Embossing Buddy
2. Stamp your velum with versa mark
3. Add Embossing powder and heat
4. Use your markers to color the velum (make sure you are coloring the back of the velum)

I hope you will give the technique a try!

Stampset: Bloom with Hope, Apothecary Art
Paper: Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Velum
Ink: Versa Mark, Calypso Coral, Wild Wasabi, Staz On
Bigshot: Circle Framelits
Tools: Spritzer, Heat Tool, White Gel Pen

Accessories: White Tea Lace Paper Doilies

FM177 Sketch with Leaves

This week we had a special guest at the Friday Mashup.

Heidi's 7 year old daughter came up with the sketch and challenge this week!!! I think she did a fantastic job and I LOVE her sketch!!!

1. Create a project using the "Sketch".
2. Create a project with "Leaves".

3. or Mash it Up! and create a project with "Leaves using the Sketch".

To get the dual coloring on the sentiment i first inked my stamp with Crushed Curry, then I lightly rolled the edges of the stamp in the Tangerine Tango ink. It is called the "Rock and Roll" technique.

Although it took some time I love how the fussy cutting turned out on the maple leafs.

To color my pearls I used the dark Daffodil Delight Blendabilties marker.

I think adding the Top Note Die and stamp inside the card make it even more special!

Stampset: Another Thank You, Magnificent Maple, French Foliage
Paper: Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Garden Green, Very Vanilla,
Ink: Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
Bigshot: On Film Framelits
Tools: Marker Spritzer
Accessories: Linen Thread, Basic Pearls
