It's been a while since I have posted but I was really inspired by the color combo challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary that I had to go right to my craft room.

I love this color combo!

Stay tuned for a post in the future to show you how I created the background.

Calling All Hereos Birthday - FMS200 - FM222

It has been a very long time since I have been in the craft room and created anything. Life has completely taken over and I am finding it hard to get into the craft room.

I needed to get some crafting therapy so today I decided to see what challenges were out there and what I could come up with.

I found two challenges and instantly I had an idea for a card.

Thank you Freshly Made Sketches and The Friday Mashup for your inspiration!

This sketch was simple but it was perfect!

The challenge at Friday Mashup was to create a Birthday card using any technique, I chose to do a reflection technique using vellum as well as a water-colour background.

Here's what I came up with:

Stampset: Calling All Heroes and a Paper Pumpkin Stamp
Paper: Basic Black, Shimmery White, Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Vellum
Ink: Versa Mark, Archival Black, Lost Lagoon
Markers: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: White Embossing Powder

FM195 I have a Sketch!

I am so excited for this weeks challenge at The Firday Mashup! This week I got to create one last sketch for the team and for all of you. I think it is the perfect way to end my time with the team. I am super excited to see how everyone interprets the sketch!

Over the past year I have really enjoyed my time with The Friday Mashup team and I believe I have grown a lot as a creator. I started out only casing (copying) other people's projects but now I am able to come up with my own.

I just want to take time to thank all the other designers on the team. They have provided fantastic inspiration with all of their challenges and they have pushed me to think out side of my box which has helped me to grow!

This week's Mashup Challenge is:

1. Create a project with the "Sketch".
2. Create a project with "2 different embellishments".
3. or Mash it Up! and create a project "with the Sketch and different embellishments".

Stampset: Four Feathers, Perfect Pennants
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Blackberry Bliss
Ink: Crushed Curry, Smokey Slate, Blackberry Bliss
Bigshot: Banner Framelits
Tools: Stampin' Up's Handheld Stapler
Accessories: Coastal Cabana Thick Bakers Twine, Frosted Sequins, Mini Staples

I thought it would be fun to show you what cards started my adventure with the Friday Mashup.

When they put out their call for new designers I had a vivid dream of some cards to make for one of their challenges. The next day I went straight to my craft room and began creating. The cards turned out exactly and I pictured them in my dream.

I submitted them to The Friday Mashup Design team call and shortly after that I was off and designing for the team.

Thank you all for playing along with us throughout the year, it has been amazing!

FM192 Mix and Match Shapes with Embossing Folder Technique

Hello and welcome to another week at the Friday Mashup. I love the new technique we are challenging you to use this week! It's so much fun and turns out different every time.

This week's Mashup Challenge is:

1. Create a project with a "Embossing Folder Stamping Technique". Link Here
2. Create a project  with "Mix & Matched Shapes".

I couldn't figure out what to do with the mixed shapes challenge so I went back to punch art. I loved the Care Bears on Tina's blog Craft Break for Me. To make the bear more authentic I printed the cupcake from a image I found and cut it out by hand.

FM 172 Color Combo & Wood Element

Sometimes when you start making something it turns out different than you imagined. I started casing a layout of a card I liked and in the end it looks nothing even remotely like the card I was looking at. In fact I didn't even end up making a card. At the last minute I had a brilliant idea to turn the element I was going to add to a card into a cake topper. This helped me to mashup this weeks challenge.

1. Create a project with " Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black & Whisper White".
2. Create a project with a "Wood Element".

3. or Mash it Up! and create a " Project using the colors above & a Wood element".

Stampset: Party Animal (Avery Elle)
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi
Punches: Hexagon
Bigshot: Party Animal Die, Deco Label Collection
Accessories: Wood Skewers
