Calling All Hereos Birthday - FMS200 - FM222

It has been a very long time since I have been in the craft room and created anything. Life has completely taken over and I am finding it hard to get into the craft room.

I needed to get some crafting therapy so today I decided to see what challenges were out there and what I could come up with.

I found two challenges and instantly I had an idea for a card.

Thank you Freshly Made Sketches and The Friday Mashup for your inspiration!

This sketch was simple but it was perfect!

The challenge at Friday Mashup was to create a Birthday card using any technique, I chose to do a reflection technique using vellum as well as a water-colour background.

Here's what I came up with:

Stampset: Calling All Heroes and a Paper Pumpkin Stamp
Paper: Basic Black, Shimmery White, Whisper White, Lost Lagoon, Vellum
Ink: Versa Mark, Archival Black, Lost Lagoon
Markers: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: White Embossing Powder

FMS104 Halloween Washi Again!!!...

I apologizing for not posting on Friday! I started going back to University on Tuesday and the homework has already been piled on. I am trying to keep my head above water but that meant I had to stop blogging for a couple days. I will do my best to keep you motivated daily with a new creation.

Onto my latest creation. I am not sure why but I keep going back to making my own DSP with washi tape. It might be because I do not have any Haloween DSP but I am not sure.

As always, I love the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and found this card to come fairly easily (easy for me is a couple hours in the craft room while watching netflix....)

Continue to scroll through my post for photos on how to give you the black highlight around the stamped image.

Stampset: Tags 4 You
Paper: Basic Grey, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Grey, Basic Black
Punches: Label Bracket
Bigshot: Chevron Embossing Folder
Accessories: Witches Brew Designer Washi Tape, 1/8" Mini Brads

Cut both pieces in half  and also cut along the dotted lines as pictured above.

I forgot to mention to also cut the small corners as shown by the white lines.

Adhere two pieces to the back of your stamped and punched image spacing out the pieces. Do the same for the other two pieces.

The back of your stamped and punched image should look like this.

Dahlia Thinking of You

When I seen Freshly Made Sketches this week I was stumped for a while. While sleeping last night a Polaroid flashed in my head, and I thought it would work great for their sketch. Looking at their sketch now I see I went fairly out of the box but I still think it fits the sketch enough to submit my card for their challenge.

I also combined their sketch with Friday's Mashup's challenge of making a Sympathy or Thinking of you Card.

I am been very drawn to the Dahlia Stamp. I hope you like it because I think you will be seeing it a lot more in the next year (or longer, if Stampin' Up doesn't retire it).

To make the Polaroid I cut my Basic Black to 3-1/4" X 3-5/8". I used a square framelit to cut out the centre. My Whisper White cardstock is cut to 3-1/4" X 3-1/4" and glued behind the Polaroid.
The sentiment was powder embossed using Versamark ink and Whisper White Embossing Powder melted with Stampin' Up's Heat Tool.

Stampset: Regarding Dahlia, Embellished Events
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Gingham Garden DSP
Ink: Island Indigo, Versa Mark
Bigshot: Square Framelits, Top Note Die (inside card)
Tools: Heat Tool, White Embossing Powder, Stampin' Trimmer
Accessories: Brights Candy Dots, Candy Dot Brads

Third week using Freshly Made Sketches FMS102

So far so good. I am keeping up with my goal!!! This is the third week I have completed a card for Freshly Made Sketches (although last week I late posting my card). Cindy's sketch is fantastic and super easy to use. It seems the more I use sketches the easier cards are coming to me. I am super proud to call a card my own. I am slowly getting away from copying others cards to creating my own and that feels fantastic!!! I must be in love with Chalk Talk framelits because I keep going back to that them no matter what the card.

I knew I really wanted to use my newest stampset Regarding Dahlias. I love this flower and I am sure you will see a lot more of this stampset over the next year.

I couldn't decided which embossing folder I liked more so I made two exact cards but changed the sentiment and embossing folder. I am hoping you can tell me which card you like more.

Here is Freshly Made Sketches card sketch for this week and my cards.

Stampset: Regarding Dahlias

Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso

Big Shot: Chalk Talk Framelit, Chevron Embossing Folder, Honeycomb Embossing Folder

Happy Stamping!!!!!!!!!

Tag It Birthday Card FMS100

It is time for another sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. They are celebrating their 100th sketch and to honor that this week they are doing their first sketch over again. I love this sketch but it took me a while to make the card work. Surprisingly enough I knew which stamp set I wanted to work with right away but I had to play with the paper for a while to get the card the way I wanted it.

I am super pleased with how this card turned out and I can't wait to participate in their next sketch. I am setting a goal for my self, here in front of you all. My goal is to participate in at least every other week of Freshly Made Sketches but ideally I would like to participate weekly. Lets see how this goes...

Before I get to my card I would like to tell you about the stamp set I used. Tag It is Stampin' Up!'s Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set this year. This means you can ake a difference in someone's life if you purchase this set. For every Tag It stamp set Stampin' Up sells they donate $3.00 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. Isn't that fantastic!!! If you would like to help make a difference you can purchase the set in my online store just click the shopping cart on the right side of my blog.

Now onto my card...
